Extend your gallery window

Close your gallery's upload window early or push it back out — free and built in today — plus how paid extensions past your plan's window will work.

~3 min read

Each PixVenu package includes a default upload window — the time your gallery stays open for guests to upload photos and videos after the event. How long that runs depends on your tier: free galleries have no time limit (the 30-photo cap is the ceiling instead), Essential runs 3 months, and Signature and Premier run 12 months, all measured from your event's end date.

Managing the window you have (available today). From your gallery's Stop accepting uploads control on the host dashboard you can close uploads early — pick an exact cutoff date and time, or stop uploads immediately the moment your event wraps. Changed your mind? Push the cutoff back out again with the quick +30 days, +90 days, and +1 year buttons, anywhere up to your plan's window. This control is free and built in — many hosts use it to close a gallery the Monday after a wedding, then re-open it for a couple of weeks when a guest asks to add the shots they forgot.

Extending past your plan's window (design contract). Want the gallery to keep accepting uploads beyond the window your tier includes — say, to give distant family more time after a memorial service? The contract behind every paid tier is a one-time extension you purchase from the host dashboard: pay once for the extra time, not as a subscription. This in-app Extend purchase ships alongside PixVenu's Stripe billing integration — the platform-side gates (gallery status, go-live timing, upload-window cutoffs) are wired and tested today; only the billing surface is pending. In the meantime the contact team arranges extensions manually — send the gallery name and the extra time you'd like, and we'll set it up.

Photos in a closed gallery aren't deleted — once the window closes the gallery simply goes read-only: everything already uploaded stays viewable and downloadable, and the underlying photos and metadata stay intact against your account. If you want a closed gallery accepting uploads again, contact support and we can re-open it for you.
