Cookie Policy
What we store on your device, why, and how to control it.
Cookie Policy
Effective Date: 25 July 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Simply Brilliant Solutions LLC (referred to in this policy as “PixVenu”, “we”, “us”, and “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit www.pixvenu.com (“Site”). It explains what these technologies are and why we use them, the specific cookies we set, and the choices you have to control them.
This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains more fully how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
WHAT ARE COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device when you visit it, and that the site can read on later visits. Cookies are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to the site’s owners.
We also use technologies that work in a similar way to cookies, such as your browser’s local storage. Where this policy refers to “cookies”, it also covers these similar technologies unless we say otherwise.
Cookies set by us (or on our behalf, and served from our own domain) are called first-party cookies. Cookies set by another organisation, such as an analytics provider, are called third-party cookies.
HOW WE CATEGORISE COOKIES AND ASK FOR CONSENT
We group the cookies we use into three categories:
- Strictly necessary— required for the Site to function, to keep you signed in, to secure access to protected galleries, to remember your privacy choices, and to honour a partner referral link you chose to follow. These are always active and do not require your consent.
- Analytics— help us understand, in aggregate, how the Site is used so we can improve it.
- Functional and marketing— remember choices you make and help us understand which of our marketing efforts brought you to PixVenu.
Analytics and functional/marketing cookies are non-essential. Where the law requires it (for example for visitors in the United Kingdom, the European Union, and the wider European Economic Area), we do not set these cookies or run the associated tracking until you have accepted them. Visitors in these regions are shown a consent banner, and nothing non-essential runs until a choice is made. Where an opt-out regime applies, these cookies may run by default but you can still turn them off at any time (see “How to manage your cookies” below). We also honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals sent by your browser as a request to opt out.
COOKIES WE USE
Strictly necessary
| Cookie | Party | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-<project>-auth-token (and numbered chunks) | First-party (via Supabase, our authentication provider) | Keeps hosts signed in and authenticates requests to your account. | Session, renewed as you stay active |
| pixvenu-consent | First-party | Remembers your cookie-consent choice so we do not ask you again on every visit. | 12 months |
| pixvenu-region | First-party | Records whether you are in a region where we must ask for consent, so the banner and the analytics gate behave correctly. | 24 hours |
| pixvenu-pin-<id>, pixvenu-album-pin-<id> | First-party | Remembers that you entered the correct PIN for a protected gallery or album so you are not prompted again. | 7 days |
| pixvenu-referral | First-party | Set only when you arrive through a partner’s referral link. It remembers which partner referred you so that partner is credited and any associated discount is applied when you check out. It holds only the referral code, and is not readable by JavaScript. | 90 days |
Analytics (set only where permitted or with your consent)
| Cookie | Party | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_<id> (Google may also set related cookies such as _gid) | Third-party (Google Analytics 4) | Distinguishes visitors and measures aggregate, non-advertising site usage so we can improve PixVenu. | Up to 2 years |
| ph_<id>_posthog | First-party (PostHog, served through our own endpoint) | Product analytics — helps us understand which features are used so we can improve them. | Up to 12 months |
Functional and marketing (set only with your consent)
| Cookie | Party | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| pixvenu-attribution | First-party | Remembers the first campaign, referrer, or link that brought you to PixVenu (first-touch attribution) so we can understand which of our efforts work. | 90 days |
Similar technologies (local storage)
In addition to the cookies above, we use one item of browser local storage. This is not a cookie — it is stored on your device and is not sent to our servers automatically. It remains until you clear your browser storage.
| Item | Party | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| pixvenu-guest-photo-tokens | First-party | Lets a guest who uploads photos without an account return to view their own uploads on the same device. | Until you clear your browser storage |
HOW TO MANAGE YOUR COOKIES
You can control non-essential cookies in the following ways:
- Your Privacy Choices.Use the “Your Privacy Choices” link in the footer of any page to reopen the consent controls and change your decision at any time. Rejecting analytics turns off the analytics and functional/marketing cookies described above and stops the associated tracking.
- Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser or an extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of non-essential cookies.
- Your browser settings. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies and clear local storage. Because these controls differ between browsers, check your browser’s help pages. You can learn more about cookies and how to manage them at https://www.allaboutcookies.org.
Please note that strictly necessary cookies cannot be switched off through our consent controls, and that blocking all cookies through your browser may stop parts of the Site from working — for example, you may not be able to sign in or open PIN-protected galleries.
THIRD-PARTY COOKIES
Some cookies are set by third parties we use to provide our services. These providers process the data they collect in accordance with their own privacy policies:
- Google Analytics — see Google’s Privacy Policy.
- PostHog — see PostHog’s Privacy Policy.
CHANGES TO THIS COOKIE POLICY
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we do, we will revise the “Effective Date” at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about our use of cookies.
