When we shipped gallery themes a few weeks ago, we resisted the urge to give hosts ten options. Four felt right — enough to give every kind of event a tonal home, not so many that the choice itself became work.
Here's how to pick.
Classic — for formal nights
A deep, near-black background with the photos as warm light tiles against it. Reads as a film print or an editorial spread. We've seen it land beautifully at black-tie weddings, gala dinners, and late receptions. If you find yourself imagining the photos in a leather-bound album, this is the theme you want.
Warm — for summer receptions
Peach and rose tones, soft contrast, a sunset register. The default for most weddings — flatters skin tones, makes candlelight photos sing, and matches the colour palette of the marketing site you booked us from. If you don't know which to pick, this is the safe bet.
Cool — for outdoor and garden
Forest greens, muted sage tile tones, daylight-leaning. Excellent for outdoor weddings, garden parties, lake-house gatherings, and anywhere the photography itself leans into greenery. Pairs particularly well with welcome signs propped against natural backdrops.
Mono — for editorial and corporate
A muted neutral background with grayscale tiles. Strips away tonal warmth so the focus stays on the photographs themselves. Hosts running corporate events, product launches, or photo-led editorial moments tend to land here. Also a quiet, dignified option for memorial galleries where a warm palette would feel wrong.
Still not sure?
Open the demo gallery in each theme and look at the photos that are already in there. The right one usually becomes obvious within a few seconds — and you can always switch later, even mid-event. Themes were designed to be opinions, not commitments.
